This policy explains what information Environmental Consulting and Contracting Group, Inc. collects through moldhazard.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

The short version

We collect the information you type into our contact form so we can answer you. This website does not use advertising trackers or analytics software, and we do not sell your information to anyone. Our contact page uses Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated spam, which is the one third-party service on this site.

Information you give us

When you submit our contact form, we receive the information you enter: your name, email address, phone number, the service you selected, and your message. We also record the IP address the submission came from, which helps us identify automated spam.

If you call or email us instead, we receive whatever information you choose to share in that conversation.

Information collected automatically

Our web host keeps standard server logs. Like nearly every website, those logs record the IP address of each visitor, the pages requested, the date and time, and the browser and operating system used. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any tracking service that follows you between websites. We do not set cookies of our own.

The notice bar that appears on your first visit uses a browser feature called session storage to remember that you dismissed it. That value is stored only in your own browser, contains no personal information, is never sent to us, and is erased when you close the browser.

Spam protection on our contact page

Our contact page uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell real visitors apart from automated spam. It runs only on that page — not on the rest of this website.

To decide whether a visit is genuine, reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you interact with the page, and may set cookies. That information goes to Google and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We receive only a score indicating how likely it is that the submission came from a person; we do not receive the underlying data.

We use it because the contact form is a public inbox and without it the address is quickly buried in automated junk. If you would rather not use reCAPTCHA, call us at 443.827.5264 instead — you will get the same service.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers who operate parts of our business on our behalf — our web host and our email provider. They may only use the information to provide that service to us.
Anyone you ask us to, such as an insurance adjuster, property manager or landlord involved in your claim.
Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect the safety or legal rights of a person or of our company.

How long we keep it

Contact form submissions are kept as long as we may reasonably need them to answer you and to service any work that results. Records tied to completed work — including warranty records — are kept longer, because our warranty obligations outlast the job. You may ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.

Security

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so what you type into the contact form is protected in transit. We limit access to submissions to the people who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us to see what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop contacting you. Reach us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

Children

This website is intended for adults arranging services for a property. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Our site may link to other websites we do not control. This policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect.
